The reason behind Mia’s Mission

Let me introduce you to my family. These are my children, me and my husband, and our sweet angel Mia. On March 17, 2022, we lost our IVF miracle at 36 weeks during an emergency C-section. It was later concluded that we lost her due to a sudden placental abruption that happened directly under her umbilical cord. We were able to spend two and a half very precious days with our sweet girl while we were in the hospital. Mia’s sisters and brother, Grandparents, and her aunties and uncles were all able to come meet and hold her. We all created as many memories as we possibly could in that short time. This was all made possible because of a very special machine called a Cuddle Cot. The Cuddle Cot is a cooling pad that is placed in a bassinet and is connected to a specially insulated hose and keeps the infants body cool. It allows their body temperature to stay low and helps to slow down the process that a body goes through once you have passed. I am starting Mia’s Mission to not only keep my daughters memory alive and to break the silence around pregnancy and infant loss, but also to raise money so that I can donate Cuddle Cots to surrounding area hospitals that do not have access to these. I want to give grieving families the ability to spend more time with their babies and make as many memories with them as they can before they must say See You Later. Losing a child is a very heart shattering and lonely road and I want them to know that they are not alone and our stories are not over. I will forever do whatever I can to remember not only Mia, but all of our babies, share all of their stories as they deserve to be heard, and always say their names!
